‘Eastbound and Down’ Returning to North Carolina for Season 4
HBO’s hilarious series Eastbound and Down will return to North Carolina, as filming of Season 4 is set to begin in Wilmington, NC in February 2013.
It was announced in July via Variety that HBO had renewed the comedy for eight more episodes, and Wilmington’s StarNews reported earlier this month that filming would begin in the Port City in February.
Played by Danny McBride (Your Highness, Pinapple Express), Eastbound and Down‘s anti-hero “Kenny Powers” is from a fictionalized version of Shelby, North Carolina. Season 3 ended with Kenny returning home to Shelby.
Season 1 was filmed in Southeast North Carolina in 2008, while Seasons 2 and 3 split locations between Puerto Rico, Myrtle Beach, and Wilmington.
Season 3 of HBO’s Eastbound and Down arrived on Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 4.
