Charlotte’s ‘Homeland’ Returns for Intense Season 2
Hot off an impressive six wins at last week’s Primetime Emmy Awards, Showtime’s hit series Homeland returns this Sunday for Season 2, filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina and on location in Isreal.
The show (reportedly President Obama’s favorite) is about a mentally unstable CIA agent who is convinced that an American war hero is actually a sleeper terrorist planning to send U.S. secrets to our most feared enemies. It is drama in every sense of the word, and certainly as horrific as any zombie or ghost on television today.
After taking home the Golden Globes for Best Drama and Best Actress for its first season, Homeland added Emmys last week for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for Claire Danes, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for Damian Lewis, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Single Camera Editing for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series to an already impressive trophy shelf.

Starring Claire Danes (My So Called Life, Romeo + Juliet), Damian Lewis (Your Highness, Dreamcatcher), Mandy Patinkin (The Princess Bride, CBS’s Criminal Minds), Morena Baccarin (Serenity, NBC’s V), and Zuleika Robinson (ABC’s Lost), the highly anticipated second season of the critically acclaimed terrorist drama Homeland is finally upon us.
Season 2 of Homeland premieres on Showtime this Sunday, September 30.
