Official Trailer Revealed for NC-Filmed ‘Heart of the Country’
Filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina and New York earlier this year, the first official trailer for the family drama Heart of the Country was revealed online yesterday.

From writer, director, actor John Ward (I Am), Heart of the Country stars Jana Kramer (Click, Prom Night, Laid to Rest)and Gerald McRaney (Red Tails, The A-Team) in a modern re-telling of the “Prodigal Son” parable, only this time it’s about an estranged father and daughter.
The film’s official Facebook page calls it “Wall Street meets Sweet Home Alabama meets Nicholas Sparks.”
According to the official synopsis, “With her husband jailed for Wall Street-based fraud, Faith (Kramer) has to leave behind her luxury life in New York to return home to North Carolina and the widower father and dutiful older sister she left behind. Together, they have to deal with the buried emotions of sudden death of Faith’s mother years ago, and learn to be a family again.”
Jana Kramer previously starred as Alex Dupre on the CW series One Tree Hill, which was also filmed in North Carolina for ten seasons.
