Evan Rachel Wood to Drive ’18 Wheel Butterfly’
Raleigh, North Carolina native Evan Rachel Wood is getting in the driver’s seat of an 18-wheeler for a new road movie said to be a throwback vehicle in the vein of Smokey & The Bandit and Thelma & Louise.
Deadline reports that Evan Rachel Wood (Across the Universe, The Wrestler, HBO’s True Blood) is in talks to star in the film 18 Wheel Butterfly for director Michael Polish (For Lovers Only, Big Sur).
Wood will play a trucker named “Rainbeaux”, who is accused of a crime that she didn’t commit and must outrace the law, brother truckers, the feds, and bounty hunters in Texas in the summer of 1977.
Wood will soon be seen in A Case of You with Vince Vaughn and The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman with Shia LaBeouf, both of which will arrive in theaters in 2013.
