‘Junebug’ Writer to Direct First Feature in Winston-Salem
A new production is about to start filming in the Piedmont Triad area, as writer Angus MacLachlan will make his feature directorial debut with Goodbye to All That, to be shot in his hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The Winston-Salem Journal reports that filming of the new independent feature will begin in October with the local writer behind the camera for the first time.
MacLachlan will serve as both director and writer for the new film, after previously penning the screenplays for the 2005 drama Junebug, which introduced the world to Amy Adams (Man of Steel), and the 2010 thriller Stone, starring Robert DeNiro (Heat), Edward Norton (The Incredible Hulk), and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil).
Epoch Films is producing, but no word yet on casting.
MacLachlan’s writing breakthrough Junebug (2005) was also filmed in Winston-Salem, NC.
