‘Iron Man 3′ Production Halted After Robert Downey Jr. Injured
Currently filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, production on the Marvel / Disney sequel Iron Man 3 has been temporarily halted after star Robert Downey Jr. suffered an ankle injury while performing a stunt.
Marvel released an official statement today, which you can read below.
Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.
The much anticipated latest chapter in the blockbuster Marvel / Disney franchise, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton, Stephanie Szostak, and Jon Favreau, who directed the first two films and also serves as a producer.
Shane Black takes over the director’s chair for this installment.
Filming started in May at EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, NC.
Iron Man 3 will land in theaters on May 3, 2013.
