NC’s Maria Howell Catches Fire in ‘The Hunger Games’ Sequel
Lionsgate Studios announced today that Gastonia, North Carolina native Maria Howell (NBC’s Revolution, The Blind Side, The Color Purple) has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as “Seeder”, a former victor of the games, in the big budget sequel due in theaters next year.
UPDATED 8/15/12: NCHollywood.com talked to Maria just hours after the official announcement about her role in the anticipated sequel, but we have been asked by Lionsgate to keep that portion of our chat under wraps for the time being.
Howell is currently in Wilmington, NC filming Revolution, the newest series from mastermind J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, ABC’s Lost), which will air on NBC starting next month.
You can read our full interview with Maria - where we dig into Revolution, The Color Purple, The Vampire Diaries, and making it as an actor in North Carolina - later this week exclusively at NCHollywood.com!
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters on November 22, 2013.
