‘Writers’ to Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival
The 2012 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will host the world premiere of the new comedy-drama Writers, which was filmed in Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington, North Carolina earlier this year.
To accompany yesterday’s TIFF announcement, new photos from Writers have also been released, which you can check out below!
Starring Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine), Jennifer Connelly (Requiem for a Dream), Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), and Lily Collins (Mirror, Mirror), the film is about a dysfunctional family of – you guessed it – writers.
Author Stephen King also makes a cameo appearance as himself.
According to the official synopsis: An acclaimed writer, his ex-wife and their teenaged children come to terms with the complexities of love in all its forms over the course of one tumultuous year in Writers, the clever, funny, and touching tale of a fractured family trying to rediscover one another.
Writers was written by and marks the directorial debut of Virginia Beach, Virginia native Josh Boone.
The film will be released in Canada via Entertainment One, but is currently awaiting a distribution deal in America.
The 2012 Toronto International Film Festival begins on September 6.
