[Now Filming] ‘We’re the Millers’ Begins Shooting in Wilmington

Filming begins this week in Wilmington, North Carolina on Jennifer Aniston’s new movie We’re the Millers, and the stars are tweeting their excitement, as an early image from the set has already surfaced.

The comedy follows a veteran pot dealer (Jason Sudeikis) who creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico.

In addition to Aniston (Friends, Horrible Bosses) and Sudeiks (NBC’s Saturday Night Live), New Line Cinema’s We’re the Millers also stars Ed Helms (The Hangover), Emma Roberts (Scream 4), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Will Poulter (The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader), Molly Quinn (ABC’s Castle), and Kathryn Hahn (Anchorman).

Earlier today, Emma Roberts tweeted: “First day of filming on We’re The Millers! So excited I woke up an hour early which I can assure you NEVER happens haha.” She later posted the below photo from the set, again via Twitter.

Molly Quinn also tweeted her enthusiasm today, teasing: ”First day on the set of “We’re the Millers” adding layers. “

Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) is directing from a script by Wedding Crashers writers Steve Faber and Bob Fisher.

Production officially started today (July 23) in Wilmington, NC.

WECT reports that We’re the Millers will be filming on location on River Road between Independence and Sanders Road overnight this Wednesday, July 25.
