[Now Filming] New ‘Safe Haven’ Photo Braves the NC Marshes
A brand new image from the set of Safe Haven was just released featuring stars Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough on the water for a scene from the much anticipated Nicholas Sparks adaptation, currently filming in Southport, North Carolina.

Released today (July 10) via the film’s official twitter page, the above image is of Duhamel and Hough as they “brave the marshes (and try to stay dry) while filming a scene from Safe Haven.”
Starring Julianne Hough (Rock of Ages, Footloose), Josh Duhamel (Transformers), and Cobie Smulders (The Avengers) – Safe Haven is currently filming in Southport, NC.
Lasse Hallstrom (My Life as a Dog, The Cider House Rules) is directing the film for Relativity Media, based on the novel by North Carolina author Nicholas Sparks.
The plot is ”a young woman with a mysterious past lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her”.
North Carolina previously hosted the Sparks adaptations A Walk to Remember (2002), also filmed in Southport, and Nights in Rodanthe (2007), filmed in the village of Rodanthe on Hatteras Island.
You can find Safe Haven in theaters on February 8, 2013.
