‘Salt’ Director’s Hilary Swank HBO Movie Coming to Wilmington
An HBO television movie currently in production starring two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank will film some scenes in Wilmington this summer.
Mary and Martha follows two women who bond while fighting malaria.
The film is being directed by Phillip Noyce, who also directed the pilot of the ABC television series Revenge in various locations around North Carolina, including Southport and Oak Island. Noyce also directed the big budget action feature Salt (2010) starring Angelina Jolie.
Hilary Swank won the Best Actress Academy Award for Boys Don’t Cry (1999) and Million Dollar Baby (2004).
The production is currently filming in Africa, but Wilmington will stand in as Washington, D.C. for about a week, according to Star News.
Swank will star alongside Brenda Blethyn (Pride and Prejudice, Atonement)
