‘Hunger Games’ Sequel Will Not Film in NC
It has been rumored and now it appears confirmed that the sequel to The Hunger Games will not film in North Carolina after all, as the production is moving to Georgia.
The Buzz is reporting that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will start filming this summer in Atlanta.
The first movie in the planned trilogy was filmed in and around Charlotte last year and broke numerous box office records upon its theatrical release on March 23, 2012.
The Hunger Games is currently the most successful film ever produced in the state.
It is not uncommon for film franchises to relocate filming locations, just as Iron Man 3 is now filming in North Carolina, while parts 1 and 2 of that franchise were filmed out of state.
