‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ on DVD

Filmed in Wilmington, the action-packed Journey 2: The Mysterious Island has already made more than $270 million world-wide since its theatrical release in February, and now the sequel to 2008′s Journey to the Center of Earth arrives on DVD this week.

Rated PG, the family-friendly adventure stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (The Scorpion King, Fast Five), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical, Sucker Punch), and Josh Hutcherson, who should know the Tarheel state well by now after filming both Journey 2 and The Hunger Games in North Carolina in the last year.

Three different disc packages will be released this Tuesday.

The Blu-ray combo pack is available in either 3D or traditional 2D versions, and includes an interactive map of the island from the movie, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and an Ultraviolet digital copy of the film.

The DVD contains the gag reel and deleted scenes.
